According to the Regulation of the Minister of Economy and Labour from December 9th, 2009 biomass is all liquid or solid, biodegradable matter of animal and plant origin.
What is biomass?
The benefits of biomass
There is a wide range of possibilities of using biomass, so many advantages can be mentioned:
- It’s reliable – unlike solar or wind energy, biomass is available regardless of conditions such as season or insolation
- It’s environmentally friendly – in this respect, it significantly exceeds other types of fuels used in the industry and in everyday life. The amount of carbon dioxide, which is produced during biomass combustion and the process of obtaining energy that might be used does not exceed the amount absorbed by plants during the photosynthesis process. In comparison with fossil fuels, there are lower emissions of carbon monoxide, nitric oxide and sulfur dioxide in the production of biomass.
- Using wastelands – thanks to biomass production the amount of waste, both organic and industrial, is reduced. It allows to use food surplus and plant wastes.
- Low price – it is mainly the result of high and constant frequency of biomass occurrence in particular areas of the globe (it is found everywhere). Thanks to this, the transport of the fuel is significantly limited.
We offer sunflower husk pellets and wood pellets. The material is imported or comes from domestic manufacturers.

The implemented Due Diligence System was audited by an independent certification body. Certificate no. 028/SNS/2016 confirms that Porto Palo Ltd. is a reliable supplier offering biomass that fulfills the requirements of the President of ERO to document the origin of energy sources.

Our products
Sunflower husk pellets
Cylindrical pellets produced in a rotary process of crushed sunflower seeds and husks crushed under very high pressure. They are characterized by low moisture and ash content.

Wood pellets
The fuel material is pressed under a high pressure, without using chemical adhesives, from wooden materials such as sawdust, shavings or wood chips. Thanks to that, energy-efficient pellets with a calorific value of about 17 MJ/kg are produced.
